MEDFORD, Ore. — The Oregon Legislature passed a bill Monday that will allow restaurants and bars to sell cocktails and mixed drinks for takeout.<\/p>\n
Management at Tap and Vine say it’s a good option.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it’s nice for people that don’t really drink the beer or the wine, and they want to drink a cocktail, they can drink it in the comfort of their own home,” Adam McRill said.<\/p>\n
McRill says it could be good for business.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt helps sales with the restaurant as well, because alcohol is a little higher priced than, you know, food would be,” McRill said.<\/p>\n
The new measure requires customers to purchase takeout cocktails with a food item. Restaurants also can’t sell more than two cocktails per “substantial food item.”<\/p>\n
The bill is now headed to Governor Kate Brown to sign.<\/p>\n
Afterwards, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission will plan the rollout of the new regulations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
